It's totally normal to feel a little nervous before your photo session! I've outlined some of my best tips and tricks that will help calm your nerves and build your confidence before your session.

Tip #1: Trust your photographer
Your photographer knows how to pose. Trust that they will deliver you natural, beautiful final images. They will walk you through everything and you don't have to worry about coming up with your own poses. Of course, if you find a favorite pose or must-have photo, definitely tell your photographer and they will make it happen!
I personally LOVE working with people who have never modeled before. The final gallery images are some of the most authentic, candid images that I've delivered!
Tip #2: Review the style guide
You will receive a style guide when you book a session with your photographer. Style guides are created to give you all of the information about what looks best with their posing and editing style. If you follow the suggestions in the style guide, you can be assured that your outfits will look great with your photographer's unique style! Your photographer may recommend certain things like accessories & flowy skirts in their guide, which really help with getting a variety in posing.
Tip #3: Bring along your hype person!
For seniors, your hype person might be your mom or your best friend. Bring along someone who makes you feel amazing! There's nothing better than having a super fun time at your photo session and surrounding yourself with people who make you feel like a superstar.
I personally photograph a lot of couples, and you don't need to worry about this tip because your hype person will already be with you at your session! I love photographing couples because we get to capture not only your love for each other, but also your friendship.
Tip #4: Take time to pamper yourself
Take this time before your photo session to pamper yourself! Schedule a day to pick out your outfits, get a facial, and treat yourself to a nice lunch. It will be a super fun day and it'll also help you relax to know that everything is planned and taken care of ahead of time.
Another step that I strongly suggest is scheduling hair and makeup the day of your photo session. Getting your hair and makeup professionally done will make a big difference in your final images and skyrocket your confidence during your session.
I send my clients my recommendations of great places to visit before your session!
I hope that by following these photo shoot tips, you are ready and confident for your photo session! It's so much fun getting your photos taken. I hope you're prepared for plenty of laughs and sweet moments!
