When you’ve been together for nearly a decade, your love story becomes woven with countless memories, quiet moments, and shared laughter. Chelsea and Hunter’s engagement session at Montisippi Regional Park in Monticello, MN was the perfect celebration of their 8 years together — full of joy, intimacy, and a little champagne popping for good measure.

With MN engagement photography, I love when couples choose a location that offers a mix of natural beauty and relaxed charm. Montisippi Regional Park gave us winding trails, golden light, and plenty of quiet spaces for Chelsea and Hunter to simply enjoy each other’s company.

How Their Story Began

Chelsea and Hunter met their freshman year of college. Chelsea’s roommate was friends with Hunter’s roommate, and one day Hunter tagged along for lunch with the group. That simple meeting was the start of a relationship that has grown stronger every year since.

When I asked Chelsea to describe their relationship in one word, she didn’t hesitate: caring. It’s the kind of love that’s not just seen but felt — in the way Hunter looks at her, in the way she laughs when he’s near, and in the way they always choose to simply be together.

A Session Filled With Personal Touches

One of my favorite parts of being a Minnesota engagement photographer is finding ways to weave each couple’s personality into their session. Chelsea and Hunter’s favorite date night is staying in — grabbing movie theater popcorn to-go, then heading home for a night of movies, playing cards, and talking late into the night.

During their session, they wanted to bring that same sense of fun and connection. So, in true celebratory fashion, they popped a bottle of champagne right in the park. The result? Pure laughter, sparkling eyes, and a burst of golden bubbles against the setting sun.

Looking Ahead to the Wedding

Chelsea and Hunter have been engaged for just four months but together for eight years. This session marked their very first professional photo experience, and I couldn’t be more honored to be the one to capture it.
